About Episode
How do you move from being in denial about the gravity of the situation to the decision to shut the business down?
How does Kate cope, all while not allowing herself to grieve?
How is Kate looking to the future and not allowing 2020 to be seen as a failure?
The Coronavirus pandemic has thrown the world into disorder. Millions of lives were turned upside down overnight, including Kate Shepherd’s. Over 15 years, Kate grew her business into a multimillion dollar company, but at the beginning of 2020, everything changed.
Kate joins the NAKED podcast to talk about her experience of grieving the loss of her business but also her own identity and people’s expectations on how she was supposed to feel. We talk a lot about grief, and Kate makes it clear that this is far from fully digested. Not unlike when we lose a person close to us, it is not a linear process.
How do you bounce back from that? How do you find the strength to be able to do that? Kate shares how she draws her strength from her family and her faith, and about the importance of surrounding yourself with mentors and entrepreneurs who understand your experience.
